5 Steps for glowing skin

Did you know the skin is your body’s largest organ?

Keeping your skin in great condition is all about having a healthy routine. What you do day to day is a big part of keeping to skin clean, healthy and glowing.

Cleanse

A gentle daily cleanser removes impurities without stripping your natural protection. Cleansers not only remove makeup, oils and impurities from the environment, but also opens the skin’s channels. Cleansing is necessary in order to allow your serums and creams to sink into the skin.

Gently massaging your cleanser into the skin, then rinsing it off with lukewarm water is the best way to prepare your skin for the following steps.

Tip: Double cleanse the skin at night time by rinsing and repeating. The first cleanse is to remove makeup and impurities, the second cleanse is for your pores.

Exfoliate

As we age our cell turnover rate slows down. Exfoliating helps the body’s natural turnover process, removing old cells to allow fresh new ones to form. It is also is a very important step for product absorption. Removing dead skin which blocks the surface allows active ingredients to penetrate the skin and deliver vital ingredients to the deeper layers of the skin, where new skin cells feed on supplied nutrients.

Tip: Want a deeper clean? Try exfoliating after patting your skin dry. It allows the particles of the scrub to have full contact with your skin for smooth results. Exfoliating 2 times a week is ideal.

Tone

Applying a toner is a very important step for hydration and absorption. Toners open the skin’s channels and allow creams and serums to sink into the skin, rather than just sitting on top. They improve the skin’s elasticity and hydration levels, meaning your skin bounces back more quickly.

Did you know toners rebalance the skin’s ph back to its natural state?

Serum

Are you concerned about aging, pigmentation, dehydration, sensitivity or damaged capillaries?

Serums are the vitamins and nutrients to keep the skin healthy from the inside out. They penetrate deeper than creams to protect and repair cells and are the key to keeping the skin youthful.

Whether you are concerned about dehydration, pigmentation, sensitivity or other skin conditions, there is a serum just for you.

Moisturise

Moisturisers are the final skin care step. Moisturisers nourish the skin with moisture to keep the outer layers supple and protected from the elements. This step also helps to retain your natural hydration levels and prevents trans epidermal water loss, the dehydration of the skin.

Apply cream as the last step to lock in moisture and keep your skin supple all day.

Follow with sun protection for daytime to block out harmful UV rays.

Keeping a good skincare routine, along with regular treatments and a healthy diet with plenty of water is the best way to maintain and improve skin health, inside and out.
